If we talk about the Hindu religion, then we will mention that the Hindu scripture “Bhagavad Gita” written by Dhyan Chandranath Tagores is one of the famous books in this genre of books. This book has always been an eternal source of information for me. In fact till today when I have finished reading this book, which was published in 1974, my mind boggles at the same time as it was written a hundred and ten years ago. “How to know Hindu Sanatana Dharma” is another great book that narrates the life of Lord Krishna who once came from the heavenly abode as a God and established this divine religion as the right path for human worship.
The author of this book is none other than Dr.Nandimukha Sahoo. He is an academician and is also described as an “atheist” by the British Government. His main thesis in this book is, “Hindu philosophy is not a religion but a philosophy of life and non-violence” This book is an abridgment of the “Bhagavad Gita”. In this book, the author has tried to explain the philosophy of “Bhagavad Gita” in a simple manner so that even the common man can understand and apply the principles in life.
The book also gives a brief description of the history of this religion from the time of its establishment to the present day. The authors try to explain the relevance of the “Bhagavad Gita” not only to the Hindus but also to the Non-Hindus. This book is a must read for all those who are interested in learning about the background, philosophy and practices of this sacred religion. I believe that this book will not only help the readers to gain a deeper understanding of “Bhagavad Gita”, but also open their eyes to the actual purity that is found in this religion.
